Most omens about money are connected with the table. So put coins or keys on the table. Money and well-being don’t like emptiness and everything symbolizing it. That is why an empty bottle is the object absolutely inappropriate. One of the symbols of emptiness is whistling. Probably that where the ban to whist at home comes from. One more analog of emptiness is something bare, not covered. So to dust something from the table with a bare palm leads to shortage. There should be a tablecloth, and the hand with a duster.
