European women support World No-Tobacco Day |
In 1988 the World Health Organization declared the 31st of May as World No-Tobacco Day. The world community faced a difficult task – to make the problem of tobacco smoking vanish from the face of the earth in the XXIst century. But as you see the problem has not disappeared. The struggle with the nicotine goes on.
According to the data of the WHO more people die from smoking than from drugs or AIDS. Of course it’s not easy to give up that habit. We all know that nicotine forms strong dependence. A recent survey has shown that two third of smokers are under the impression that smoking doesn’t do much harm and just few people care about their health. There’s good news that you can obtain significant advantages if you give up smoking at any age. Those who leave off smoking at the age of 30-35 have the same life span as those who have never smoked at all. The percentage of Russian women who smoke is very low. Girls from Russia are aware that smoking is not in fashion any more, but healthy life-style is!!
