August, 24 Ukrainian people celebrate the most important holiday of the country – the Independence Day! Ukrainian history has begun in 9 century when the ancient state “Kiev Rus’” was created. After its come-down in 17 century, there was created the Hetman state that existed till the end of 19 century and then till 20th century Ukrainian State wasn’t existed. After facing two World Wars and later lots of political turmoil, Ukraine got their independence from the Soviet Unions on the 24th of August, 1991. The Independence Day of Ukraine was a hard fought battle with the constitution being adopted nearly five years after its independence.
August, 24 is an official holiday in Ukraine, it’s a nice chance to spend time with your Ukraine woman her friends and family, to participate in festive parades and fireworks. In the evening there are concerts of popular Ukrainian pop stars in every city of Ukraine. Ukrainian singers are very talented and some of them are famous worldwide. Thus Ukrainian singer Ruslana with her song “Wild dances” won European song Contest “Eurovision” in 2005. This year the most beautiful Ukrainian woman and singer Ani Lorak with her “Shady lady” song took second place and was recognized as the most beautiful participant.
