Orthodox Easter 2013 – May’5 |
This year Orthodox Easter is more than a month later than Catholic Easter. It's celebrated on Sunday May’5, following the holy week that starts on Holy Monday on Apr’29 2013.
Orthodox Easter is the most important religious holiday in Russia and Ukraine.
By tradition, it is not desirable to sleep in the Easter night. In the evening people go to church for vespers service, bringing in beautiful baskets with the variety of foods in the Church – Paskha (sweet cream-cheese dish eaten at Easter), the traditional Easter bread, painted eggs, sometimes even meat and food products.
You have a chance to spend that holy day with your Sweet Lady from TopLop.com. Just come to her city and you’ll be able to deeply feel the atmosphere of Orthodox Easter!
